Merlin Olsen Mesothelioma
Merlin Olsen died from a rare disease called malignant Mesothelioma. Mesothelioma is a rare form of cancer in which the victim is usually exposed to abestos, harmful and poisonous particles that when it becomes consumed, leads to many problems in the mesothelium (internal organs).

Before Merlin Olsen’s death at the hands of Mesothelioma, he was a very succesful NFL player playing for the Los Angeles Rams’ famous Fearsome Foursome in the 1960s (one of the best defensive fronts in football history).
Merlin Olsen was admitted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1982 with his impressive career that saw 14 consecutive Pro Bowl selections. He continued his career as a beloved football color commentator.
Merlin Olsen was only diagnosed from Mesothelioma last year after showing Mesothelioma symptoms that inlcudes shortness of breath, chest wall pain, and also weight loss.
Malignant Mesothelioma is a disease which still has no definite cure, and is one of the most unfortunate types of cancer where usually a company is responsible for the consumption of abestos particles.
Melin Olsen’s protective lining around the lungs had been eroded and he past away this week at the age of 69.
He will forever be remembered as one of the best defensive tackle to ever play the game but perhaps more importantly he had immense success off the field, being an excellent role model and doing a great deal of charity work that made him one of the most.
While Mesothelioma might have taken Merlin Olsen away from us, his legacy will live on forever.
